29 days until the Purple Path Annual Healing Retreat! Here’s how to prepare

Purple Path Family,

We are officially 29 days away! On Saturday, October 24, we will gather for the Purple Path Annual Healing Retreat®: From Healing to Legacy: Activating the Village. I am grateful you will be in the room. GO REGISTER TODAY!

Saturday, October 24, 2026 Tinley Park Convention Center 18451 Convention Center Drive, Tinley Park, IL 60477 Doors open at 9:00 AM | Retreat: 10:00 AM–6:00 PM

Come early. Check in, enjoy continental breakfast, explore the Village Marketplace, visit our healing spaces, and start your Activate the Village Bingo card. Lunch is included, too.

Here’s a simple look at our day:

  • Morning: Welcome Home, Catherine McNeil’s keynote, and our Village Voices panel on what it really takes to activate the village.
  • Midday: Lunch, shopping, community resources, wellness experiences, and an interactive visit from the 40+ Double Dutch Club.
  • Afternoon: Two rounds of workshops, including a Governors State University session on navigating higher education, followed by an on-site admissions opportunity.
  • Closing: A guided From Healing to Legacy activation, community commitments, gratitude, and a restorative closing circle.

Throughout the day, make time for the Restorative Trauma Walk, Family Wellness Village, Purple Pages Reading Nook, Purple Path Peace Place, and Women’s Wellness Suite. You can move, learn, shop, connect, or pause and rest. There is room for all of it.

🦷 Universal Dental is joining us. Their team plans to offer brief dental screenings, oral health education, recommendations, and help scheduling follow-up appointments. If you would like to connect with them about care beyond what they can provide at the retreat, bring your dental insurance card, a clear photo of it, or your insurance information. That will help their team discuss your next steps. The retreat screening is not a full dental appointment.

🎓 Thinking about Governors State University? Come prepared. The GSU Admissions Team will offer advising and application support, with instant admission decisions for eligible prospective freshmen and undergraduate transfer students. Bring an unofficial transcript for advising and, if you want your records considered for an admissions decision, an official transcript in a sealed envelope when applicable. Application fees will be waived for retreat attendees; no waiver code is needed.

🛍️ Bring your shopping spirit to the Village Marketplace. Our village brings together small businesses, authors, wellness providers, and community organizations. Make a point to meet the people behind the tables, ask about their work, shop when you can, and share a resource with someone who needs it. Our vendor and community lineup includes:

BDavis Designs • Black MOMish • BP Media Co. • Burst Into Books • Caprice L. Nevils • Chamber of Wellness • CHBM Services • Chicago Integrated Health • Harvest Living Wellness • Hustle Mommies • Living Well Community Counseling • Mellow Vitality • Raising & Rooted • Sinai Chicago • The Growfessor™ • THNKWELL • TMH Behavioral Services • Positive Impact Health Collective • Sunflower Sugar Scrubs • Howard Brown Health • Governors State University • Universal Dental

We will share any additions or changes as the final village lineup comes together.

👕 Order your retreat shirt NOW. This year’s shirt says, “Healing Is Not the Destination. Legacy Is.” If you want yours for retreat day, please place your shirt order now so there is time to prepare it.

Already registered? Your place in the village is set. If someone you love still needs a ticket, please send them the retreat registration page. Registration must be completed in advance; tickets will not be sold at the door.

Bring comfortable shoes, what you need to shop with our vendors, and an open heart. We are gathering to practice healing, build relationships, and decide what we will carry forward together.

I cannot wait to welcome you home. 💜
