And with everything we are witnessing in our schools, organizations, communities, and everyday conversations, one question continues to surface: What does Restorative Justice actually look like in practice? I want to create space to answer that question. Registration is officially open for two virtual sessions of: Restorative Justice 101: From Practice to InfrastructureThis is a 90-minute introductory professional development experience for educators, administrators, school support personnel, behavioral health professionals, youth-serving professionals, community partners, and anyone seeking a stronger foundational understanding of Restorative Justice + Restorative Practices. We are going beyond circles. We will talk about accountability without humiliation. Repair without avoiding consequences. Relationships. Community safety. Humanity. Climate and culture. And what happens when we stop treating Restorative Justice as another program and begin understanding it as infrastructure. I will introduce participants to my Jones Theory ABCs — Accountability, Building Competencies, and Community Safety — as well as the 5 Rs of Restorative Justice: Radical Love, Reciprocity, Reimagine Education, Redefine the Village, and Restore Humanity. The Annual Healing Retreat gives us an opportunity to experience healing, connection, restoration, and village in community.
